On-demand databases are now available in cn-hangzhou (Hangzhou)
A second deployment option that scales compute with load and pauses when no one is connected.
On-demand databases are now available alongside always-on databases. Choose On-demand when you create a database in cn-hangzhou (Hangzhou), or set "productType": "serverless" in POST /v1/databases.
- Compute scales between a minimum and a maximum that you set, from 0.5 to 14 compute units (CU). One CU is about 1 vCPU and 2 GB of memory. New databases use a range of 0.5–2 CU.
- Pause when idle is on by default. The database pauses after about 10 minutes without connections and resumes in about 7 seconds when the next connection arrives. Set your client’s connect timeout to at least 15 seconds.
- Storage ranges from 20 to 1,000 GB in 5 GB steps.
- Connections use port 5432 directly. Database roles can be granted
owner,pg_monitor, andpg_signal_backend.
